A UK bank account is still required of course, but is an excellent way to get a contract mobile phone with poor credit score. The phones may not always be the very latest and shiniest versions, but tariffs are very comparable with most of the big phone networks out there right now.
If you happen to be in the interesting situation of having bad credit, but still possessing a credit card, it may be worth the time to apply for a cell phone the regular way. Yes, excessive inquiries can potentially lower your credit rating, but for the most part, the worst thing that can happen is that they turn you down.
We suggest trying Affordable Mobiles first if you choose this route, We’ve seen a number of instances where people with poor credit ended up getting a contract phone through this site, so it’s definitely worth your time.
If you still can’t get a phone, then you’re in the uneviable position of having someone try to apply and get the phone for you. You can always transfer the bank payment to come out of your account instead to avoid inconveniencing the friend/relative who is kind enough to do this for you. Of course, the only issue with this is, if you don’t pay the bill, it affects their financial standing and credit, so make sure you can follow through before exploring this option.
If you’re lucky enough to get a contract phone, hang onto it. It will allows you perks, a pretty much set rate, and the ability to upgrade down the road without having to pay too much, sometimes just by asking for an upgrade.
We hope this has been a useful read for you, and that it proves just because your credit is bad, doesn’t mean you can’t get a contract phone and reap all the benefits it has to offer.
Want a contract mobile phone and have poor credit?
The question your asking yourself is can I get the iPhone if I have bad credit? The answer is not a simple one, sure you can try your best to get it but remember it is a £400-500 handset and one of the first pieces of advice when applying for a mobile phone with bad credit is opt for a mid range handset.
The iPhone is a nifty bit of kit but there are several lower end handsets that have nearly all the same functions which are cheaper and therefore have a better approval rate. The iPhone has stricter conditions than many handsets and you may struggle to get one if you have severe bad credit, however if you just have no credit history it may be worth a try as you have to start somewhere.
Alternatively apply for a sim only contract with Orange or Vodafone and get the iPhone in a few months once you have built up some loyalty.
In the video industry, the latest buzzword these days is 3D. Televisons in 3D mode will be released this summer with new programmes being rapidly produced to meet the demands and people are flocking to cinemas to watch 3D enabled films such as James Cameron’s Avatar. So when will 3D begin appearing on our mobile phone screens?
James Cameron recently said that he believes that 3D is going to come to mobile phones faster than people might think. He explains that the technology necessary to create 3D images on a small screen like a mobile phone is actually simple when compared to the 3D technology required for the big screen. Moreover, you won’t need to wear 3D glasses to see 3D on a small mobile phone screen because of the way that the technologies differ.
However, is it going to really be worth it to watch movies like Avatar on a screen as small as your mobile phone? Cameron says no. The entire design of a 3D movie like this one is supposed to be a monumental big-screen effect that appeals to your senses. It just isn’t likely that you’re going to be able to really get that effect on such a tiny screen.
So what will 3D be good for on mobile phones? Cameron says that he’s excited about the 3D apps that developers are likely to start coming out with the near future.

Why Capture It Is Better Than Other Options for BlackBerry Screenshots

Well, the reason is because this is a wireless option whereas most of the other good options out there are not wireless. Other options, such as using the command prompt or taking screenshots with BB ScreenShooter, require you to connect your device to your computer before you can take and use the screenshot. Since you probably use your BlackBerry when you’re on the go, these options aren’t nearly as convenient as learning how to use Capture It.

Since taking the mobile phone industry by storm at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week, Sony Ericsson raised the excitement surrounding the first 12 Megapixel camera phone further by releasing a trailer showing off the Idou and its new open source Symbian interface.
Forget about catching on fire, this particular mobile phone battery actually exploded with enough force to sever some apparently vital (as opossed to those non-vital arteries…) arteries in a Chinese man’s chest. Chinese-language site Hexun is reporting that witnesses heard a sudden, loud “bang” and then saw the man fall to the floor. Sadly, the exploding mobile phone battery resulted in an untimely end for the poor guy, who was just out shopping at a Lenovo ( OTCPK: LNVGY ) store. China seems to be a hotbed for phone mishaps that involve batteries and some sort of combustion
Orange has launched a pay as you go Blackberry handset aimed at the youth market, in an interesting marketing idea.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 in indigo marks a shift away from a focus on the business market for RIM. The handset will be available on prepay for £145 and will be marketed with an Orange £5 monthly internet add-on.
The phone will promoted to the youth market with easy access to internet sites such as the Facebook, Myspace, Flikr and windows live messaging.

Many have heard that US companies are having a lot of trouble with staying afloat, keeping their credit lines solid, keeping employees, etc. But many in the UK know its just as bad there right now, in fact, even worse in some ways.
UK business leaders are suffering a crisis of confidence with short term business confidence in the UK plummeting by 29% since last year, the lowest since 2003, according to the PricewaterhouseCoopers 12th Annual Global CEO Survey. That’s truly a scary figure, and will impact the ability of the average citizen to get credit with these companies. They’re being much tougher on applicants.
Nevertheless, business leaders see a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel, with more optimism about recovery and growth over the next 3-5 years.
Growth expectations have been severely impacted by the unprecedented economic and financial turmoil. As the economic downturn deepens, the mindset of the UK CEO has had to change, rebalancing short term survival with long term ambitions.
Many are now opting for lower risk strategies for growth: financing expansion from internally generated cash flow, retrenching into existing markets rather than seeking mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to grow market share and reducing spend on new product development. Despite this, UK CEOs still recognise that they must not lose sight of important drivers for long term success, such as retention of talent and planning for global issues such as climate change.
Hopefully, this will turn around and companies will experience growth and prosperity once again.
LG’s “affordable” touch-screen phone, the Cookie is now available to Orange customers in two new colour variants. Pink and silver versions of the phone are now available alongside the original black version. The new variants even have a new model name, the LG-KP501, as opposed to the original LG-KP500, albeit the difference being one single digit. However, the KP501 not only has a new look and model name, but the call buttons have also been made slightly slimmer from the original.
Orange is selling both the pink and silver versions of the LG Cookie for £99.99 on prepay and free on a 24-month contract at £15 per month. The LG Cookie has been incredibly popular since it went on-sale in November last year. In fact Carphone Warehouse claimed in the run up to Christmas they were selling around 20,000 LG Cookie’s a week.
Both the pink and silver LG Cookie can be purchased from Orange stores and Orange’s online shop.
